Simson SL-1 Mofa 1972

Somewhat lethargic East German 2 wheeler, built for the DDR powered bicycle regulations which included 30kph top speed. Proved less than popular and was discontinued after a couple of years, with the motor living on much longer in lawn mowers. Life in the slow lane, down there with Velosolexes.

MZ ES250/2 1973

Iconic DDR 250 with looks only a mother could love. "ES" model designation was humorously referred to by the East Germans as EisenSchwein - Iron Pig, nuff said.

Obtained in exchange for the Barkas, included the oh so rare aluminium carburettor cover, bad news is for reasons which now escape me I removed the carb and cannot currently locate it. The search continues.

MZ TS150 1979

Second one of these little machines I've owned, gave sterling service until developing an increasing tendancy to cut out at low revs. Investigations ongoing.
